Blocked sites not being logged correctly

We are currently trialing the fastvue system with a view to purchasing in advanced of our sonicwall upgrades this year.

Very impressed, however we have done some testing and it is not picked up on these tests so far. It appears that some websites that are blocked outright are not being logged at all.

For a test under my own account I attempted to visit www,sex,com (dots instead of comma's) Our firewall did its job and displayed the standard website blocked page, but I can find no record of the block in the fastvue system. Our pupils have time based rules that block social media during certain hours and these are working fine.

Any suggestions of how to troubleshoot this?

Hey Daniel,

Thanks for getting in touch about this. You should see this activity on the Productivity dashboard under the 'Blocked Undesirable Sites' section in the bottom right.

To be sure the information was logged an imported, can you try running an Activity Report filtered for:
Site Domain 'Equal to'

Does the report return data?

Make sure SonicWALL is logging the Website Accessed & Website Blocked events - as detailed on our Getting Started page:
